Growing up around the water, I learned a love for sealife As a young child, my family would travel to the Chesapeake Bay, Mathews County to be more specific. The first thing I would do when arriving would be to run out onto the pier and check the crab pot. Just something so exciting about having a pot full of crabs. Maybe it was the excitement of the catch...getting the big one. I don't know, but the memories of that time are just spectacular . Not only do I love the excitement of the catch, but the colors are God's finest....blues, purples, reds, oranges. They are all there. Beautiful colors on the ocean's grumpiest inhabitants.
Susan Miller Bradbury is fine artist who resides in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in the Roanoke Valley. A long-time lover of the arts, she began her career after graduating from Radford University in 1986, with a BA specializing in Graphic arts. Her first love was that of pastels...in which she honed her skills doing portraits of people and pets. Later, after raising her family, she decided to take a dive into unchartered waters...acrylics. This was quite daunting as it had been quite a while since using the paintbrush; however, after picking up the paintbrush and diving in...she was hooked. Now, she loves the medium of acrylics as well as oils and is on her way to expressing herself more and more through acrylic and oil...

Congratulations on your feature in "Exclusively Drawings and Paintings"! I've caught (and eaten) a more than a few of these guys in my life, and you have captured the spirit and beautiful colors of this creature. l/f
